what comm is about

What I think of this class. This class is an alternative to English for kids who don't want to deal with all the useless work that they do in English. Personally for me since i am becoming a plumber i don't need to know how to write poem or learn about Shakespeare. Most of the stuff in English is irrelevant to anything in my life. In comm we actually learn how to think for ourselves ore and we learn interesting stuff. My favourite part is listening to your talks. You always make your talks interesting and i always learn something new even if its not to do with school. I believe my responsibility in this class is to show you that i can take something and actually think about it and reflect on that. What  think you were doing with the blogs and everything just makes it easier. It also connects the class like facebook does. Another thing is that kids always lose papers or forget binders this way its always there. You believe that connecting everything to something you know helps learn. I think that if the learning is fun or interesting its easier to learn. Also if it interesting your actually motivated to listen or do the work. Peers don't help my learning that much i ask them questions sometimes but mostly i work independently. For example of my own thinking i chose my hotel Rwanda Assignment. In this assignment i thought pretty hard about it all and the reasons for the genocide. I believe learning is when someone is taught something and they actually take that information and use it in there life. Learning useless stuff is pointless.

I relate Sullivan and Rwanda in the sense that alot of conflicts start because of mistruths or different versions. Sometimes i witness it clearly i will be there when it happens and i hear people telling others and i hear stuff that never happened. People love seeing fights n matter who, so most times people will lie and do a bunch of messed up shit to manipulate people for their entertainment.

Rwanda Theme

The song i chose is about the "Armenian genocide" also called the "Armenian holocaust". The government tried to eliminate the armenian minorities in the ottoman empire. The ottomans used mass burning ,drowning kids, drug overdose to children and poison gases. Eventually there were death marches and concentration camps . This was a holocaust before the nazi holocaust people call it the " forgotten holocaust" over 500,000 Armenians were killed between 1914-1918

What caused the tribes to hate each other?
When the Belgium's came to Rwanda to take all there resources they sorted he people in a really dumb way. The people who looked more white were called Tootsies and the others were called Hutu's. The Belgium's told the tootsies that they were better than the Hutu's for a long time. Eventually they believed it and treated the huts like shit. The Belgium's eventually left and left the people to deal with there hatred. Now with the Belgium's gone the Tootsies had no power. The Hutu's were mad now because they got treated like shit for so long. The Hutu's dislike the Tootsies Because they were in power and they oppressed he Hutu's for so long. The hatred spreads because of the limited access to information, The children were told since they were born that Tootsie are cockroaches and eventually that what they truly believe. All the people are told is that Tootsies are bad and need to be exterminated and they believe it because they don't know any better. They justified what they did by calling them cockroaches and saying how cockroaches need to be exterminated. People don't have problem with saying lets kill all cockroaches , to them it seems less harsh. This is similar to the Holocaust but in a smaller version. The people are told constantly that Tootsies are bad just like they did with the German people. In Germany, Hitler constantly did rallies and speeches all saying that Jewish people were rats that carry disease. Just like in Rwanda the people were called cockroaches, calling the people a dirty filthy animal or bug helps people kill them without feeling bad. My reaction to this movie is disgust the fact that people cant even tell the difference except for their papers shows that they have no reason or right to call them cockroaches or harm them. I could talk about how i don't get how people could do this but I know I wont be able to figure it out. I will never fully understand how people can become like this, not even people but animals.



April 25th
What really started the Rwandan genocide. The lust for power and trying to control other people s a factor. People are always trying to manipulate other people by using knowledge and twisting facts. The Rwandan government controlled its people by controlling the information. Once the everything is soaked in the fuel of lies and mistrust the spark that ignites it all is the death of the president.

I spend 60% of time on task i usually do my assignments right away so i have more time to relax.

I dont have much of my genius hour done yet because it took me a while to figure out what im gonna do, but now that i know i can work on it alot.

For self regulation i would say im at 70% i can usually stay on task but i get distracted sometimes.

For my assignments i put about 80% of effort into them

For my quality of assignment i would say they are arpund 75%

For an overall mark i would say 80% because i have almost all my assignments done and i try a decent amount on them.

Tattoos

1) I think that by getting tattoos it is pain full yes but it is worth it

Hamlet

I honestly can say that i don't relate to Hamlet, I've haven't really been in a spot like that. I can relate to the feeling of every ones against you were you feel nothings going your way.  Usually the time i think about most things is when I'm in my bed, this is actually a problem. I have A.D.D so when I'm lying in my bed quiet and dark everything goes through my head. I think about everything i think how I'm gonna catch up in school, how I'm gonna talk to someone when i see them tomorrow, I also think about what i did that day, did i do this rigtht? did this make me look stupid. Some positives I look for are my dog, i love him so much and hes always there with me. I also smoke weed because it calms my mind, the A.D.D i have makes it so when im alone i am always thinking. When im high things dont race through my head and it calms my mind.

I made connections to the lines 1-5 were it says

 I made connections to this because i am one of those souls who doesn't question why. I don't really care about what the government is doing, one reason is because i cant stop it and if i try " until one attempts to resist and then there laid to rest". I believe fighting the government conspiring and all that shit is a waste of time energy and money, also you can is off the government which isn't good. I am much more concerned with my own life making sure I'm successful and live a good life. So far just not caring about the recording and all that stuff has worked out fine.


I believe the meaning of the song is if you want something to change you have to actually do something about it. Its also about how people say all this stuff about how they care and this stuff should stop. Even though they say all this nothing is ever done, if people really wanted to stop bullying they'd actually step in when someones getting bullied. example: wearing pink doesn't mean anything, anyone can wear pink and say don't bully people but the people who actually want it to stop will go to the bully and tell them not to bully anyone" talk is nothing talk is cheap" I connect this to my life in the way that if you say something do it. If i say something ill do it but thats why i dont say as much as some people.

Personas

The celebrity i chose is Neil Patrick Harris. I chose him because in the show how i met your mother he is this ladies man who sleeps with tons of girls and lives this great single life, But in real life he is gay and has a husband and 2 kids.  I think that most people who only knew his how I met your mother persona would think hes some what like that in real life but hes not. He has a family, 2 kids he loves and they are probably the most important things in the world to him.            

My public persona is probably kinda quiet athletic person who is a skater. Which is mostly right i Love sports skateboarding snowboarding and how i dress matches, i wear skateboarding brands and i  am very calm if I'm not playing sports. I try not to be a dick because i don't like people who are like that so why would i be like that.

The gladiator personas

In the movie gladiator, Maximus's public persona is very different from his personal persona. I don't think It was always like this because Maximus used to be a general which meant he had some desire for fighting. After his son and wife were murdered he changed completely. His Public persona changed, at first he was just some slave waiting to die in the arena, but after his first battle it was clear to the people he was something more. After his 1 on 1 fight and he won but didn't kill the man, this showed that he was a very strong warrior but had no intention to kill people. His personal persona at this point is all about his family, his only goal is to get revenge against the emperor and then he wants to be at peace with his family in the afterlife. None of the people in Rome know this they all just think hes the best fighter they've ever seen, some people even call him the saviour of Rome. Maximus wants none of this what he really wants is to be a farmer and live a nice and peaceful life. In the end he kills the emperor and died, His public persona is now changed into this hero that saved Rome and died doing so, and he got his wish he was reunited with his wife and son and has now eternal happiness.

I got ISTP "the craftsman" . It says that they have an adventuresome spirit and are independant. I think that this is accurate and it relates to my 10 years plan. I am going into plumbing and ISTP's are good with tools and trades. It also states that they like action like skydiving motorcycles etc... I do , I like snowboarding i always wanted to try skydiving or base jumping. Some of the famous people I got were an astronaut action stars such as tom cruise and i got bruce lee. All these people are pretty awsomne.

My life in 10 years.

My life in 10 years. In ten years i will be 26 and by that time i hope to have my red seal and be a journeyman plumber. I and doing the plumbing program in grade 12 and i will graduate from the program. After i graduate i will already have an apprentice job for me. At this time i will still be at home so i will be saving money to move out. By the time I'm 19 i hope to have enough money to put a down payment on  house and afford living. Then from there I'm going to continue through school till I'm a journeyman lumber. after i get my red seal and worked for a few months I want to go up north or go to Alberta and work for a few years to make some good money. After that i come back to BC with lots of plumbing experience and money. After i get back i am going to travel i would like to go to Europe maybe Amsterdam England or Germany. After i get back from travelling i will look for a plumbing career and go from there.
